Tekno Team Driver Spotlight: Santos Rodriguez

TH: How old are you and where are you from?
SR: I’m 43 and I live in Killeen, TX. I'm originally from San Lorenzo, PR.

TH: Favorite Class at the races?
SR: Nitro Truggy is my favorite class. When I started racing 1/8th in 2010 the class was very popular and gaining momentum. Racing a much bigger car and wheeling it around track is so cool to me.

TH: Best moment with the Tekno Team?
SR: 2016 IFMAR Worlds at Las Vegas, NV ranks as one of my best moments with the Tekno team. I had the opportunity to pit/mechanic for Tekno team driver Orlando Lebron. To experi-ence that caliber of event topped with TeknoRc first attendance was awesome.

TH: What are your racing goals for 2020?
SR: 2020 is different, with the break in race time and practice I feel that staying focused on all aspects of my driving will be my goal. We have allot of racing ahead and making the A mains in the classes I run are always my goal too.

TH: Favorite Tekno Upgrade Part?
SR: I'm going with an upgrade part installed on all my 1/8th scale cars. Wheel nuts TKR511B, they look good, protect stub axles from getting dirty and they wont come loose.

TH: Event you look forward to the most in the next year?
SR: I look forward in attending this years Southern Nationals held at the Ike Hamilton Center, West Monroe, LA. I’ve been attending this event since 2012. Big track combined with huge air jumps and features never disappoints. Racetime Entertainment will be putting on this event for 2020 and excited for what their crew has in store for us!

TH: Anyone you would like to thank?
SR: I’d like to thank my family for supporting me in this great hobby. Daniel Lewis, Matt Wolter and Tyler Hooks from Tekno for the opportunity to be apart of an amazing race team. Finally thanks to all my sponsors which are Tekno RC, Proline, PT RC Racing Oils, MH Designs.
