Tekno RC Team Report Week 35-36 2016

A very successful couple of weeks around the globe with Tekno RC Team drivers winning in USA, South Africa, Thailand, Malaysia and UK! Anthony Westergaard, Lou Colmo, Gerhard du Toit, Boy Witsarut, Kent SungCarlo De Marco and Dave Brown winning the races they attended! Race report from each race follows:

Zone 7 race (ZA), report by Gerhard du Toit:

"Hardly had time to get in a few practice laps as this was the first time running near sea level and had to work on retuning the engines. The day started off with nitro truggy (NT48.3) and despite the small hick-up with my flywheel and engine tuning I managed to qualify 3rd overall. After a couple small setup changes I fell into the groove and took the win in the 30 minute final.
Nitro buggy seemed to be sorted out early in the day, qualifying 2nd. The final started off pretty well but near the end of the race I had a clutch bell issue and managed to settle for 2nd on the podium.

Big Thanks to Gerhard Moolman, his team and all the guys at Zone 7."

Overall results:

1st: Gerhard du Toit

2nd: Dylan Elliott

3rd: Naweed Omar

JBRL Round 5 (US), report by Anthony Westergaard:

"Jbrl round #5 at Rc Tracks of Las Vegas. The Track was watered every other round. There was a lot more traction and more consistent when the track was wet. Jimmy Babcock ran a great program over the 1 day event.

Qualifying went really well getting the TQ in the First round then bettering my TQ in round 2. My car felt great with the changes I made during practice the day before.

In the Main I got out front early. I drove a smooth and consistent race. By the end of the race I had a 25 second lead and was able to drive my own race."

Overall results:

TQ/1st: Anthony Westergaard

2nd: Carlos Arredondo

3rd: Austin Pannone

BCS 2016 race (TH), report by Boy Witsarut:

“Team Tekno Thailand traveled to the South of Thailand (Phuket) for the BCS 2016 race, a two day event held on the weekend of 27th-28th of August.

The race schedule had four 10 minute qualifying rounds for Saturday and two more rounds plus the finals on Sunday. Boy managed to get the overall TQ of the race in really wet conditions. Unfortunately the weather was not on our side, with heavy rain during the Amain the race had to stop with Boy in the first place. Thanks to Tekno RC for the super reliable car!"

Overall Results:

TQ/1st: Boy Witsarut

2nd: Witchapoom Roumlarp

3rd: Chavin RCLT

NDOR Summer series RD 5 (UK), report by Daniel Austin:

"This past weekend saw the 5th Round of the Ndor Summer series. Heavy rain overnight had meant the track was really wet upon arrival and grip levels were ridiculously low. Carlo De Marco and Mike Lightfoot looked quick from the off and put in some good qualifying runs with their NB483's with Carlo taking the TQ and Mike qualifying 3rd for the A Main. Dan Austin lined up 5th in the A Main with his NB48.3 aswell.

The final saw a great battle between the top 4 but Carlo came out victorious just 5 seconds ahead of team mate Mikefoot giving Tekno a 1/2 finish.

In truggy, Steve Alcock once again dominated the truggy class with his ET48.3 setting TQ and winning the A Main. Great job Steve."
