There’s just something about the mix of junk-yard beater truck looks mixed with serious ¼-mile hardware that appealed to us about Keith Brewer’s Slash. The body is Pro-Line’s 1966 Ford Stepside which Keith mounted low over a 2wd Slash chassis. He replaced the suspension arms with pieces from RPM and added STRC aluminum shock towers and aluminum X01 GTR shocks. He upgraded to MIP X-duty rear axles and Hot Racing transmission gears. Power comes from a Castle Creations Mamba X speed control and 2400kv motor. To get just the right patina on the truck’s finish using a metallic primer weathered with hydrogen peroxide, plus some actual rust applied. The “Sanford & Son Salvage” signage airbrushed onto the door is a really nice touch too!
