A good concept can transform virtually any truck into something unique and fun. Take Dan Lopez’s Traxxas Slash. He wanted to blend a short course vibe with classic ‘60s styling courtesy of Pro-Line’s 1966 Ford F100 body. He chopped the bed off to better showcase the Integy metal cage he installed on his 2WD Slash chassis. A Traxxas Velineon power system spins those rear wheels, which are Pro-Line rims with Trencher X tires. He beefed things up with Traxxas’ aluminum hubs, steering blocks and links. The CV joints are from MIP. Hot Racing supplied the locked rear diff. He replaced both front and rear arms with RPM pieces designed for the Rustler to add a little extra width to the track to help offset the high CG from the metal cage, and finished things off with some miscellaneous LED lighting. He geared the truck low so he can do light trail duty on 2S and but still get good speed on 3S for general bashing.
