At the heart of Ken Sutherland’s heavy metal build is a 1960s-era Tonka truck cab, which he added onto for nearly a year until he ended up with the 4-foot-long beast you see here. The entire body (aside from that vintage lower cab section) is fabricated from aluminum and held together with more than 200 aluminum rivets. That Tonka cab had to be widened by 90mm to fit the Nitro RCX 8×8 chassis. It rolls on eight 3.8 Pro-Line Mashers powered by four brushed motors and steered by two 277oz. servos and it will climb stairs (and most anything else!) all day long.
