The 2015 Silver State race came to a conclusion last night held at RC Tracks in Las Vegas, the same track that will host the 2016 IFMAR Nitro Off-Road Worlds. In the prestigious Expert Nitro Buggy class, Kyosho’s Jared Tebo claimed another Silver State win, making it his fourth victory at this event. Ryan Cavalieri set TQ and finished second with the prototype car that is slated to replace the RC8. Cav now has three second-place finishes at big events with his the prototype, including the 2014 IFMAR Nitro Worlds in Italy. Cav showed great speed with the RC8 replacement and led the majority of the race, but made a costly mistake on lap 63 letting Tebo by. Cavalieri held onto second with HPI/Hot Bodies factory driver Ty Tessmann rounding out the podium in third–a pretty solid finish considering the current IFMAR World Champ fought his way from a qualifying position of 10th.
TLR’s Ryan Mailfield took the win in Nitro Truggy with Tekno RC’s Ryan Lutz in second. TQ was posted by HPI/Hot Bodies Ty Tessmann, but mistakes and problems for the driver would see him slowly fall back and along with it, any chance for a win.
Silver State also hosted an Electric Buggy class that saw Kyosho’s Jared Tebo score another win for the weekend, besting Ryan Lutz’ Tekno machine and Ty Tessmann’s HB buggy.
