Wayne Popluhar competes in the Retro class with his Super Pete, so the modifications to the Tamiya Bullhead are pretty limited by class rules. He beefed up the chassis with a CPE center plate, as well as CPE parts for the front steering and rear steer lockout. He borrowed shocks from an HPI Wheely King and springs from an Axial SMT-10. He wanted a little more speed than stock so he upgraded to a 16-tooth gear, and installed a Hobby Wing dual speed control setup. White Pro-Line Brawler wheels work perfectly with the stock tires and match the look of the late-80s Super Pete. He went to Chip Lester for the gorgeous paint job and Hillbilly Wraps and MCI racing for the decals. He added scale diamond plate from RC4WD, plus homemade exhaust stacks and bumper pole lights, and finished things off with lucky finds for the horns and visor.
