Scott Lempert tells us the inspiration for this build came from a 1/8-scale Monogram engine kit that was given to him by a friend. The ‘50s-era 312 Y-block motor had the option for a wild direct crank-driven Potvin supercharger, but fitting it in a hot rod would mean an extended frame chassis, so Scott scratch-built one using ½-inch square tubing that he “Z”’d at the back over its SCX10 rear axle to lower the 5-window coupe to the proper stance and installed Traxxas shocks on rocker arms to keep them low-profile.
