2012 Dirt Nitro Challenge Day 2 Coverage – Truggy Qualifying

23 February, 2012

Let the racing begin! It’s another beautiful morning in Goodyear, Arizona with the sweet scent of nitro exhaust in the air. Today holds 3 rounds of Truggy qualifying. The best 2 out of 3 will count towards the racers seeding for the mains on Saturday.

Practice wrapped up late last night with a lot of pleased racers. The Dirt’s Joey Christenson made another crowd pleasing track that left many drivers with grins from ear to ear as they walked off the driver’s stand.

After a long day of non-stop running on the track, traction is coming up, but the crafted dirt is taking a beating front the 1:8 scale nitro vehicles. It will be interesting to see how well it holds up and what kind of maintenance will be done. The already technical rhythm sections are losing their rhythm and may become very challenging obstacles. Stay tuned for a detailed track description and the rest of our daily coverage.
