Blue Groove Hobbies is located in West Des Moines, Iowa and was the host of very first BGRC Summer Smack Down. Dave Duncan made the trip from Florida to represent JConcepts and to assist the team attending the race. JConcepts had many strong competitive team drivers in attendance.

Doors opened at 11am on Friday for a full day of practice. The track crew at Blue Groove Hobbies put in a fresh layout and this was the first time any cars had run on it. As the day went on, the groove came up and the grip level began to rise. All the team drivers found that JConcepts Gold Compound Dirt Webs with Dirt-Tech inserts were the tickets in all the classes.
